The team with the second trip to Homes of Hope in Fiji worked to build a steel gate and start the footings to support a building. The team of 13 Vision Abolition team members worked to continue the efforts from the previous trip.
The main focus of the trip was putting in footings, essentially the base, for a steel building that will serve as a gathering area. The building will be 100 foot by 50 foot when it’s complete. The footings had to be precisely placed for the metal building to be assembled correctly.
In addition to creating the footings, the team also built a steel gate for Homes of Hope. The gate was for the main entrance into the Homes of Hope campus. The team helped put in screens for the windows of a building and helped rebuild the kitchen Homes of Hope uses to prepare meals for the campus. Some of the team worked on redoing the electrical system for the campus. |
