She was born and grew up in Fiji. Her parents physically abused her and sold her into marriage. Later, her “husband” abandoned her and Nalini turned to prostitution to survive. When she was pregnant with her second child, Nalini’s flat mate evicted her. With nowhere to go, she cried out to God asking for help. A week later, a representative of Homes of Hope knocked at her door and shared about Christ. “I decided from there onwards that I wanted a changed life,” Nalini said. “I came to stay with them. They were here to start a home for single mothers. I was the first girl to come in the home.” Under the protection and guidance of Homes of Hope, she has turned her life around and is now mentoring and helping train new moms and working with children.
